Managing Director

As the founder of Savcon in 1999, Mario has developed the business from the small-scale Carpentry set-up to the success of the Savcon company today. His worth is defined by his core values, respectful relationships, and fair business ethos. Mario’s passion for Savcon and its achievements and continual growth, motivate the staff and clients alike. No two day are similar at Savcon. The only constants are Mario’s impeccable recount of 80’s trivia and his coffee stirring methodology.

ROHAN JONES

General Manager

Rohan’s carpentry qualifications, knowledge, and meticulous eye for detail, make him a pivotal figure of Savcon. His excellent inter-personal skills and involvement in all aspects of Savcon’ s operations, from estimating, design and engineering and contracts, through to final delivery, make him an invaluable member of Team Savcon. This is your ‘go to man’ when your flux capacitor stops working!

LINDSAY MAY

Operations Manager

With 25 years’ experience at Savcon, Lindsay’s extensive trade skills, building and technical expertise have played a significant role in the development of Savcon. Holding a Certificate 3 in Carpentry and Joinery and Certificate 4 in Building and having worked internationally. Lindsay’s granular knowledge of the building processes have enabled Savcon to complete innovative hallmark projects such as Stromlo Aquatic Centre, where Savcon installed the longest spanning Glulam beams in Australia. He can also cook up a legendary BBQ for the Savcon Crew at our get-togethers.

NIKKI PSARROS

Finance Manager

Nikki’s knowledge, time served and skill in the day-to-day management of the company, sees her at the helm of SS. Savcon! Her astute financial and human resources management and organisational abilities form part of the core foundations for Savcon’s ongoing growth. A heads up, Gluten is her Kryptonite!

ADAM HARVEY

Senior Estimator

Adam’s professional journey crossed paths with Mario in 2010, when he collaborated as a subcontractor on multiple projects. From the onset, it was clear that Adam would become a permanent addition to the Savcon Team. His excellent management skills saw him quickly appointed as site manager, where he effortlessly completed projects, on time, on budget and defect free leading to a prompt promotion as Project Manager.

Before long Adam’s strong attention to detail and ongoing professionalism yet again propelled him in a different direction to becoming our Senior Estimator.

Adam is a great example of how Savcon recognises and develops outstanding talent. But, please don’t ask him to cut off his curls – it’s his Samson superpower!

LUKE PRYKAZA

Project Manager

Starting with Mario as his first apprentice in 2008, Luke has grown from strength to strength with the business and is now a Project Manager. Holding both a Certificate 3 in Carpentry & Joinery as well as Certificate 4 in Building and Construction, Luke’s knowledge of all facets of the carpentry trade and his methodical attention to detail, enable him to ensure projects run smoothly on site. Luke’s strong work ethic and dedication to his job and to his role as office karaoke star are second to none.

DAVID KINGHAM

Project Manager

David caught the timber bug from his days studying an engineering degree at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. After starting his mass timber journey as a structural engineer and now as a project manager, he specializes in leading the design, procurement, and planning process of our mass timber projects.

David is renowned for his ability to forge strong relationships with both local and global suppliers, seamlessly bridging the gap between design and installation. His extensive experience spans major mass timber projects across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. David is also highly proficient in digital construction methodologies and using CM Builder for virtual construction planning, enhancing project efficiency and accuracy.

MATTHEW BURKE

Business Development Manager

Matthew Burke, a seasoned structural design engineer, has dedicated his career to realising Mass Timber projects in Australia. With a decade of experience, he’s contributed to key projects like the New Sydney Fish Markets and AMRF, a Savcon delivered project.

Matthew’s expertise spans both Australia and Europe, and he’s passionate about integrating structural design with suppliers, consultants, and project constraints for holistic problem-solving.
With his technical design knowledge and client-centric thinking, Matthew joins Savcon’s Mass Timber team as a business development manager.

TAMARA SHAKESPEARE

Office Manager

Tamara’s experience within varying administrative fields and having achieved a Certificate 4 in Human Resources, provides her with the unique insight to audit and create policies and operational procedures at the core of the company, ensuring efficient performance. It has enabled her to implement a compliant and cohesive environment for both the on site and office teams which has dramatically improved the resourcefulness of Savcon’s operative systems. In our world of timber construction, hammers and drills, Tamara has arrived armed with a formidable force, 6 inch heels and a falafel wrap.
